TASTES and treats from across the globe come to Clevedon this month with a special continental market. The market is taking place at Queen's Square on Sunday from 9am-6pm and will feature traders from France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Holland and Poland. The
TASTES and treats from across the globe come to Clevedon this month with a special continental market.The market is taking place at Queen's Square on Sunday from 9am-6pm and will feature traders from France, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Holland and Poland.The traders will wear traditional costumes while they sell products including Swedish cider, Italian nougat, Belgium chocolates and fresh breads and croissants. For those with a sweet tooth there will also be freshly cooked crepes and wines from a family vineyard in Frontignan, France.As well as edible goods where will be a range of products including leather handbags, Marseille soaps, Peruvian clothes and oriental rugs as well as Mediterranean pottery.Spokesman for the continental market Olivier Simonin said: "Most of the products on sale will come from the land of the stallholder where they are produced by small organisations such as family businesses, farms or small factories using traditional methods."All of the traders will also wear their traditional local costume from 100 years ago as well as decorating their stall to represent the area of the country they have come from."The market will provide a true flavour of the continent.
