A tree-mendous gift

CHILDREN in Locking Castle have been enjoying one of the area's biggest Christmas trees - after it was donated by a man who had been growing it in his garden for more than 20 years.
Reg Coombes and his late wife Annie planted the fir in the late 1980s, but Reg handed it over to Locking Castle Church for Christmas and it was unveiled on Monday.
Kelvin Smith, who is part of the church leadership team and also a landscape gardener, said: “This is a 26-27ft tree which they have been growing for years, and Reg kindly donated it for the community to enjoy.”
