THE chairman of a local action group in Kewstoke says its members have been let down because the council keeps delaying work on a trouble spot in the village.Steve Edwards, chairman of Kewstoke LAT, says promises to start work on the bus terminus in Beach Road in the village are not being fulfilled.Mr Edwards, who is also a parish councillor, said: "The LAT was set up two years ago to address problems in the village. Among other things this included tackling anti-social behaviour at the car park in Beach Road."We were given deadlines by North Somerset Council for initial work to start on putting in an earth bund and lockable gates. "We were promised work would start by the end of March then we were told it wouldn't take place until the end of May. Now we are in June."The car park in Beach Road has been the source of continued problems in the village with local residents raising concerns over anti-social behaviour. A North Somerset spokesman said: "There have been delays with the project due to other priorities but we hope to have the work done within the next couple of months. "This will involve putting in a gate with a height barrier which will be closed in the morning and evening by rangers. The area where the buses turn will also be separated by posts from the rest of the car park so cars cannot access that area."This will be the first phase of work and when funding is available we will also resurface the area as part of a second phase.
