A WESTON woman will appear in court next month after a dog she was looking after allegedly floored a fully-grown man and bit his face.

The Mercury ran a story after Kevin Windsor, of Uphill, said he was attacked by a dog on the Beach Lawns last month.

The 58-year-old said he was left with blood dripping from his face, a cut arm and ripped trousers.

Last week the alleged offender was interviewed by officers at Weston Police Station.

She will appear at North Somerset Courthouse in St Georges on July 27 for being in charge of a dog in a public place which caused injury.

PC Jack Roth said: “The dog belonged to someone in Birmingham, but was being looked after here.

“It has since been returned to its owner and West Midlands police have been advised.

“We take reports such as this very seriously, do investigate and would urge people to report incidents or concerns like this to us.”
