MORE high-flying displays will take to the skies above Weston today (Tues).

The Grand Pier’s air show is expected to attract thousands more visitors following the successful start of the event yesterday.

The first performance of the day will be at noon by the Old Flying Machine Company.

It will be bringing two rare, historic aircraft to the town, a Spitfire Mk IX and a P-51D Mustang.

The company, which is famous for its appearances in top films like James Bond Tomorrow Never Dies and Saving Private Ryan, is renowned for presenting the fighters in an exciting aerobatic display, either solo or in formation.

At 2pm the world’s only aerobatic formation wingwalking team, the Breitling Wing Walkers, will perform a breathtaking sequence of acrobatic manoeuvres and handstands while strapped to the top wings of the team’s beautiful Boeing Stearman bi-planes.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will then display a Dakota at 3pm, followed by a Spitfire at 3.30pm.

The finale to the two-day show will be at 4pm when the Royal Artillery Parachute Team, the Black Knights, will drop onto the beach into a specially constructed arena on the beach, waving huge Grand Pier flags
