A NORTH Somerset panel has set up a meeting to discuss Bristol International Airport's master plan to expand. The North Somerset Council Strategic Planning and Economic Development (SPED) Panel is inviting councillors and parish councils to join them on December 20 at the Council Chamber in Weston Town Hall at 3.30pm to debate the airport's plans which include having six flights per day and more car parking spaces.Chairman of SPED Cllr Elfan Ap Rees, said: "I think it is important that the public feel able to have their say."Any group or body that has not received an invitation by December 8 should contact the clerk or Cllr Elfan Ap Rees at the Town Hall for consideration. Also at the airport, around 45 security staff staged a walkout last Friday because payments were missed from their payslips. Security checkpoints were temporarily coned off but the airport's service delivery manager Paul Rankin said it did not affect passenger travel and that after a meeting with the security staff, they were reassured that the problem would be dealt with immediately.
