AFTER an intensive 30-week training course one budding pilot from Weston has received his formal commissioning as a Royal Navy Officer at Britannia Royal Naval College (BRNC).

Alexander Bishop, aged 24, said: “It’s been a challenging and demanding time over a life-changing 30 weeks, but it’s proved endlessly rewarding.”

The former Worle Community School pupil has dreamed of being a pilot for his entire life and is now set to begin his specialist training. He said: “It’s exciting now looking forward to my phase two training, and starting to tackle different challenges, where the skills acquired in phase one will come in to play.”
