Woman trapped after two cars collide in Weston

Fire crews freed a woman from a car after two vehicles collided in Weston-super-Mare this morning (Monday).

Alfred Street was closed from Alexandra Parade by Avon and Somerset Constabulary after a car landed on its side in the crash, and paramedics tended to wreckage. The woman was taken to Weston General Hospital with minor injuries.

An Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were called to Alfred Street at 9.47am. Three crews from Weston are in attendance.

“There was a road traffic collision between two vehicles. One car is on its side and a female passenger is trapped. The crews are trying to free her from the vehicle.”
