Young carers in North Somerset got the chance to showcase their creative skills by redesigning a party space.

AirHop in Bristol invited 15 young carers from Alliance Homes’ carers support alliance group to its trampoline park to give one of its party rooms a makeover.

With the help of graffiti artist Tom Sturgess, the group spray painted the studio with a cool DJ design.

The group is also supported by North Somerset Council and receives funding from Children in Need, the YMCA and other charities.

Mandy Summers, head of neighbourhoods and sustainability at Alliance Homes, was pleased with how the day went.

She said: “We’re proud to offer a lifeline to young carers to relieve some of the stresses which go with caring at a young age.

“We know having caring responsibilities can make life much harder and can make young people feel different to others their own age.”
