A MOVE to provide new allotments in Weston moved a step closer to completion after the town council voted to give it the green light.
Weston Town Council will take over the site next to the current Bournville allotments in a deal with North Somerset Council that could see up to 20 new plots created.
At the town council’s meeting on Monday, councillors voted to give the scheme the go-ahead, with work to bring the site off Tennyson Road up to scratch due to start within weeks.
The work will also create new access for vehicles to the allotments.
