Ambulance boss to step down

THE man at the head of Great Western Ambulance Service (GWAS) is stepping down after 19 months in charge
David Whiting will leave his position as chief executive of the service to join Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
Mr Whiting, who took over from troubleshooter Anthony Marsh on April 1, had started his career at the Yorkshire service as a paramedic in 1981.
Mr Whiting is expected to take up his new position early next year and work to recruit a replacement is set to start immediately.
