AMBULANCE chiefs have launched an investigation after one of its vehicles ended up on its side and fire crews had to cut the driver free in Weston.The Citroen car was upturned in the Broadway on the Oldmixon estate at 2.04pm on Tuesday (July 4).The woman driver suffered minor injuries but had to be cut free by firefighters and was later taken to Weston General Hospital in an ambulance. She was released later that day.The patient transport service car had just dropped somebody at their home and was returning to the hospital when the accident happened.Police closed off the road until 3.35pm for accident investigators and firefighters to clear up the debris.An Avon Fire Service spokesman said the vehicle lost control after hitting a post.Lois Griffin from Avon Ambulance Service said: "We don't know what caused the accident and we've launched an internal investigation.
