WHILE Americans were celebrating Independence Day people in one North Somerset village were enjoying its annual fun day.

Banwell Fun Day was held on July 4 and was American-themed, with the Statue of Liberty even making an appearance.

Motorbikes and wheelbarrows were used as modes of transport as people in fancy dress paraded from the recreation ground in Westfield Road to the primary school.

A range of traditional games, stalls, a tombola and entertainment were on offer throughout the day.
