Sailor sets off on round-the-world feat

A Weston sailor who is attempting to circumnavigate the world non-stop has set off on his solo voyage.
Andy Press, who gave up his IT job at the Mercury, was waved off from Weston Bay Yacht Club in Uphill on Saturday.
The adventurer is hoping to complete the voyage in 10 months – a feat which fewer than 250 people in history have achieved.
Andy is keeping in touch with the yacht club which is tracking his progress and he was reported to be close to Land’s End earlier today (Wednesday).
Andy is sailing in his boat, named Greenfingers, which he bought last year ready for the epic voyage.
He has spent £200 on sun cream to protect him from the rays and his family and friends have filled USB sticks with photos, TV shows, books and messages to keep him company on the trip.
