THIS year’s Your North Somerset show will include a special addition to mark its 10th anniversary.

The free event, which will be held in Weston’s Winter Gardens on January 25, will celebrate the wonders of the district once again.

And to mark the special occasion North Somerset Council is inviting residents to take part in a brand new competition.

Your North Somerset is open to everyone and aims to bring together communities for a day of advice, entertainment and activities for all the family.

To celebrate the event’s landmark the authority will hold ‘a day in the life’ competition. Residents have been sending in photographs or short films to show what is great about living in the area.

These will be used to put together a short film, which will be premiered at the event. There are also some impressive prizes on offer for the best entries, including two Kindle Fire HD tablets.

To find out more details and how to send in your footage you can download an information pack via www.n-somerset.gov.uk/News/Pages/Your-North-Somerset-2015 and there is also guidance on how to submit your images and film.

Last year’s event pulled in about 1,500 people who enjoyed activities and entertainment, and found out more information about the services in their area.

Your North Somerset will run from noon until 4pm.
