Armed man halts trains

TRAIN services around Weston have been disrupted this evening (Mon) after a man was spotted by the track with a weapon.

Services between Weston and Bridgwater are either being cancelled or diverted after a man was found to be either on the track or near the track with a weapon, according to a First Great Western spokesman.

No details of the weapon have been publically disclosed.

The problem, reported at around 9pm this evening near Highbridge, is currently being dealt with.

Trains will not run in either direction along the route until all the danger has been averted.
