A man was held at knifepoint and had his wallet and keys stolen in the early hours of Friday morning, prompting a police appeal.

The victim - who is in his twenties - was approached by another man, in Albert Quadrant in Weston-super-Mare at around 3am. The man threatened him with a knife before taking his wallet and keys from his pockets and fleeing the scene towards the Boulevard.

Police have described the perpetrator as black, in his late twenties with an athletic build. He is also said to be clean-shaven, with short hair and is thought to have been wearing a white long-sleeved top and speak with a foreign accent.
