NEW homes being built in Weston-super-Mare have been severely damaged in an arson attack overnight.
Firefighters were called to Haywood Village housing estate off Winterstoke Road at about 10.10pm last night (Thursday).
Three homes, out of a block of eight, were on fire and crews from Weston had to battle to extinguish the blaze.
An Avon Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the fire was started ‘deliberately’.
She said: “The fire caused significant damage to the properties which had been built to the first-floor (level).”
