A SPEED camera has been targeted by arsonists for the second time this year. The camera on New Bristol Road, Worle, was damaged in the early hours of Tuesday (Dec 4). It is believed tyres were placed below the camera and then set alight. It is the 26th attack on a camera in Avon and Somerset in the last two years.David Gollicker, a spokesman for the Avon and Somerset Safety Camera Partnership, said: "The camera is between Worle and Mendip Green schools and is there for the safety of parents, children and the public. Why would anyone want to vandalise a camera outside schools?"The camera suffered minor damage and is now back in action.
