Travellers which have set up in Weston-super-Mare’s Ashcombe Park have been told they must vacate today (Wednesday).
North Somerset Council has told the group it must leave the park by 5pm after a visit yesterday.
If the group, which is believed to have moved in on Monday, fails to leave the site the council will pursue a court order to evict them.
Travellers had occupied Weston’s Beach Lawns and the Hutton Moor playing fields in the past 10 days, with the council forced to obtain a court order to move the groups on.
A council spokesman said: “We visited the encampment this morning and have now concluded our health and welfare checks.
“We have served a notice on the group this afternoon directing them to leave the park by 5pm today.
“If the travellers are still on site after this time, we will request a court hearing for an order to remove them.”
