Travellers will be evicted from Ashcombe Park today.

Travellers will be evicted from Weston-super-Mare’s Ashcombe Park today (Monday) after North Somerset Council received a court order.

The council attended a hearing at North Somerset Courthouse this morning, where it was granted consent to move the group on.

Bayliffs will visit the park at 2pm to evict the travellers, who moved into the park on July 24.

The council requested the travellers vacate the park by 5pm on July 26, but the group failed to comply with North Somerset’s request leading the authority to pursue a court order.

A spokesman said: “We have received a court order and bailiffs will be visiting the park at 2pm.”
