A SIGNED Manchester United football, an autographed Justin Bieber picture and Saracens rugby tickets were just three items auctioned for charity at a special ball on Saturday.

The ball, held at Worlebury Golf Club, was organised by Mel Tripp to raise money for gynaecological charity The Eve Appeal after her mother Pat Longden died of ovarian cancer in April 2009.

Mel, of Mendip Road, Locking, said: “We raised more than £2,500 for the charity in the end, it went so well we are already thinking about next year.”
