AN AUTHOR from Uphill has published her sixth book based on people searching for their family history.
Lois Elsden has released her e-book Radwinter after writing much of it during National Novel Writing Month, where participants attempt to write 50,000 words in four weeks.
Lois, who lives in Thornbury Drive, wrote 70,000 during the month and said it was an unusual writing experience.
The story revolves around a family with the surname Radwinter, who discover their history extends to war-torn Europe in the 1830s when their ancestor escaped Poland for Britain.
Lois said: “I was really interested in family history and researching it.
“I was fascinated by the idea of the present day relationship of family changing as they find out about their relationship with the past.
“I’m really happy with how it’s turned out.
“I guess it could be described as a genealogical mystery, but there is more in it than that.”
