A WESTON author has a busy summer ahead of her after being chosen to write a book commemorating one of the world's most famous cruise companies.

Sharon Poole has been chosen to co-author a book celebrating 175 years of the Peninsular and Oriental (P&O) steamship company, which is due for release in January next year.

The Shrubbery Road resident, who will co-write the book with Andrew Sassoli-Walker, will be visiting all seven ships in the P&O fleet this summer, and is looking for anyone with memories or photographs of the company to get in touch.

She said: “We’re really happy to get this, we fought really hard for it, we felt we could do the best job as we are passionate about the subject. It’s like a dream come true.”
