Police have arrested a man in connection with a series of sexual assaults and indecent exposures in North Somerset.

The 22-year-old was apprehended this morning (Thursday).

His arrest follows four crimes of a sexual nature which occurred over 24 hours in Yatton.

A woman reported on Sunday a man had exposed himself in High Street at about 9.20pm.

The next day a 33-year-old woman told police she was sexually assaulted in Stowey Road, before a teenage girl was ‘inappropriately grabbed’ in Henley Park that same evening.

And later on Monday evening teenage girls in Derham Park reported being flashed at be a man at about 7.30pm.

An Avon and Somerset Constabulary spokesman said: “We’ve arrested a 22-year-old man in connection with sexual assaults in Yatton.

“The man was arrested by officers in the early hours of this morning on suspicion of sexual assault and indecent exposure.

“He remains in custody at this time.”
