Rain did not dampen the spirits of the people who attended Axbridge’s Blackberry Carnival in its town square last weekend.
Hundreds lined up to watch the procession parade through the town on Saturday afternoon and there was plenty on offer to take part in during the day.
Visitors were invited to watch dozens of cart entries and walkers from the town and beyond on its route, including the Willy Wonka, cheerleading and Egyptian-themed groups who took part.
From last Thursday people could also take part in fairground rides in the square, including a jungle fun house, the ‘Orbiter’ ride, teacups and a hook-a-duck stall.
Cheddar’s firefighters also took part in the celebrations and awards and trophies were gifted to the winning entries.
