AXBRIDGE Town Council is planning to draw up a village design statement to prevent any unwanted developments from springing up in the town.

AXBRIDGE Town Council is planning to draw up a village design statement to prevent any unwanted developments from springing up in the town.

The council decided to press ahead with the project after Sedgemoor District Council said there was nothing wrong with the development in Moorland Street, which has led to complaints from scores of residents.

People in the neighbouring houses are not happy about the size of the 14-home development, which towers above the other properties.

Residents are also concerned about the extra pressure on the sewers, which flooded earlier this year during heavy rainfall.

Axbridge Town Council is now determined to press forward with the village design statement so it has more say over the future of the town.
