After months of uncertainty, it has finally been confirmed that a B&M store will open in Burnham-on-Sea.

B&M initially announced its intention to take over the former Morrisons site, in Pier Street, in January.

But plans had been halted due to parking conditions set by Sedgemoor District Council.

Town centre manager Beverley Milner Simonds said: “It is a
relief to have the frustrations of
the past seven months behind us
and movement forward finally underway.

“Having this large property
empty as we start the busy summer season is disappointing and I
know that traders in the town are very keen to have the new tenant
in.

“I do not know what the impact will be on our 88 retailers. But I know they are keen to compete on service and choice.”
