THE DEATH of a woman found in Burnham is no longer being treated as suspicious, after a second postmortem. The 59-year-old woman was found at the bandstand on the Esplanade on December 5. An ambulance was called, but the woman, Katherine Hill died shortly after at Weston General Hospital. The area around the bandstand was sealed for investigation. The initial post mortem led the police to believe her death was suspicious but following a second post mortem by a Home Office pathologist police are now satisfied the death is not suspicious. Detectives at Bridgwater CID would like to speak to anyone who was in the bandstand area on the Tuesday evening, in particular, two men who were seen in a red DAF truck and a man and a woman who are believed to have offered the deceased some assistance at the time. They also carried out door-to-door enquiries in the surrounding area, to find out what happened to the woman. The case will now be passed to the North Somerset Coroner and an inquest will take place early next year.
