Banwell Carnival will return with a new format.

Banwell Carnival is set to return this weekend after a hiatus, with a new revamped format featuring a range of games.

Banwell Carnival Olympics will be held at the recreation ground, in Westfield Crescent, on Saturday from 2-5pm.

The carnival was once the village’s showpiece event, with colourful and creative floats being paraded through the village before a fair at the recreation ground.

And after a few years away, the carnival is set to return with a new format.

The recreation ground will have 16 games to play, with the best scores at the end of the carnival being rewarded with prizes.

Some of the activities on offer will include classic fair games such as a coconut shy, hook a duck and a tin can alley.

The event will have a barbecue and a licensed bar, plus a range of stalls.

A games sheet to play all 16 games costs £4, and can be bought by calling Pete on 01934 820904, or on the day.
