Banwell Village Hall was filled to the brim with tasty fruit and veg and beautiful flowers this month.

Banwell Gardening Club held its annual show on September 3 and, despite poor weather, people turned out in force to attend the event.

This year a large pumpkin – grown by William Ford – stole the show, as it was so big it needed two people to carry it into the hall, in Banwell’s Wesfield Road.

By 2pm, when the show begun, the heavens had opened but it did not put visitors off.

A show spokesman said: “We had a steady flow of public in the hall all afternoon.”
