Banwell Family Fun Run took place on Sunday, with keen runners lacing up their running shoes to tackle the 5km course around the village.

Dozens of entrants lined up at the start line at the scout hut before charging down the road in the hope of securing a fast time.

A number of children also entered the fun run and showcased their speed.

Plenty of volunteers were on hand to ensure the roads were marshalled and the course was signposted.

The event was first held last year, with the runners tackling a new course for this year’s event, facing gruelling climbs up the steep slopes of West Street and Church Street.

The fun run was organised by Banwell Action Group to raise funds for community events.
