BANWELL will be welcoming a new parish council clerk, Tony Jay, next month.
Tony and his wife used to live in Weston and have recently moved back to the area. He previously worked for Wychavon District Council in Worcestershire in the revenues and benefits department.
He said: “I am looking forward to working with the parishioners of Banwell, helping them to solve their problems, and hopefully making the parish an even nicer place to live than it already is.
“I would encourage any parishioner to visit the parish office in the village hall on Tuesday or Thursday mornings to discuss any local issues.”
He will take up the reins at the parish council meeting on October 7. Kevin Barrett, the current clerk, will step down and Tony will officially start work on September 16.
