Barcode fears unfounded

FEARS that thousands of pounds worth of a key grant would not be given to a favourite Weston youth café have been dispelled.
Paperwork from Weston Town Council to the Big Lottery Fund for £87,000 of grant funding for Barcode Youth Café was returned two weeks ago, leading to fears that it might struggle over the coming year.
But at a meeting of the town council’s Community Services Committee at Weston Museum on Monday, town clerk Malcolm Nicholson said the papers had been returned only due to the lack of certain information on footfall and staffing.
He added that he was confident the grant would be accepted now that the paperwork had been re-submitted with the correct information.
