BAT surveys in North Somerset have cost the taxpayer £9,923 over the past year.

BAT surveys in North Somerset have cost the taxpayer £9,923 over the past year.

Studies in four buildings across the district have been carried out to make sure the creatures' roosts are not affected by development.

The most expensive was at the building of Bournville Primary School, which cost £6,276.

Other surveys were carried out in the north of the district.
