PEOPLE from Weston are being encouraged to have a rummage around in their attics ahead of the BBC’s popular antiques show, Flog It, coming to the town.
The show, presented by Paul Martin, will be holding a valuation session at the Grand Pier on April 16 and people are being invited to take along three antiques or collectables they might want to sell for a free valuation.
The show last visited the town in 2008 and its location manager Alex Habgood is excited for its return and said: “Paul Martin and the entire Flog It team are really pleased to be bringing the show to the pier.
“We always receive a warm welcome when we come to Weston, the pier is such an iconic landmark and undoubtedly will provide the perfect setting for our valuation day; our experts are all looking forward to welcoming people along for their free valuations.
“If you’ve ever wondered how much your boot-sale bargains or clutter in the loft might be worth, now is your chance to find out.”

“It’s great to be back filming on the North Somerset coast and I hope as many people as possible will come along and see us with their items for valuation.”
The BBC will show four editions of Flog It featuring the pier within a year of recording. The crew will be at the pier in Marine Parade on April 16 between 9.30am and 4pm and the items selected at the valuation day will go under the hammer at Clevedon Salesrooms in Kenn on May 14.
The pier’s general manager Paul Charalambous said: “We’re pleased to host the BBC Flog It team here at the pier and are happy to invite everyone who wishes to take part to join us on the day.
“Alongside the filming of a major BBC TV show and the opportunity to get their items valued for free, visitors can expect the usual array of pier activities and entertainment.”
