A RANGE of architecture inspired activities will be held in Weston this weekend including a sandcastle competition and an exhibition of designs by local talent.

Love Architecture Weston will form part of the national festival of the same name from the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) on Saturday.

A sandcastle competition will be held on the beach from 12.30-3.30pm with prizes offered in four categories.

An Architects Build showcase will see local architects displaying their design skills in a special marquee located between the Grand Pier and the Seafront office on Weston beach.

RIBA South West Regional Director Jon Watkins said: “We want to excite, inspire and inform people about the built environment, and to reveal the fun side of architecture for people through these events – which are all free.

“And it is also Weston Air Day, so a great day to come to the seaside with the family.”
