A HIGHBRIDGE-based charity has been given £10,000 by generous celebrities David and Victoria Beckham.Margaret McDowell from the National Blind Children's Society wrote to the couple to ask if they could support the charity in any way and she was amazed when Victoria's mum rang up to confirm they would like to donate some cash.Mrs McDowell said: "I had written to them to ask them if they could help the charity in any way with an auction prize or just their support."Victoria's mum phoned and said they're really busy and can't help but would like to pay for specific items. I said I was trying to raise money for children and she said they'd be happy to pay for equipment for all of them. I wasn't expecting anything, I was amazed."The £10,000 will pay for three visually impaired children to have specialist computer packages to help them communicate at home and school. After her success Mrs McDowell is now planning to write to other celebrities to ask for funds.
