STAFF and volunteers from South Weston Community Centre will be carrying out an unusual task to raise money for a mini bus. The event, which is taking place on Monday at 11am, is to push a bed two miles along the beach starting at Royal Sands and finishing at Marine Lake to raise money for the For All Healthy Living Centre mini bus appeal. The single bed, which was donated to the South Weston Community Centre, based on the Bournville Estate, has been adapted so that it can be pulled across the beach. The staff, volunteers and management will carry out the challenge in fancy dress and the bed will be decorated. So far the team has raised almost £11,000, but a mini bus will cost £40,000.

Anyone who would like to sponsor the team or make a donation, can send a cheque made payable to South Weston Community Association, and send it to Alison Yianni or Bob Bateman at the South Weston Community Association, 68, Lonsdale Avenue, Weston-super-Mare, BS23 3SJ.
