A PORTISHEAD vicar is hoping people will join him in discussing how to wet a baby's head - by holding christening information sessions in a town pub.The Rev Des Williamson is organising a drop-in at The Poacher in Portishead for people who want to discuss the issue of baptising their babies. The sessions will be held on three Tuesdays from 9-10pm.The Rev Williamson, whose favourite tipple is a pint of cider, said: "I am keen to encourage parents to consider christening their children as in the rush of life with a young family, the possibility of christening is often overlooked. Also a lot of people who have never crossed the threshold of a church do go to the pub."This is a chance for people to have an informal chat and I will be happy to explain what is involved in christening over a pint."I will give the advice, but I can't guarantee it will be me getting the beers in."The sessions will be held on October 5, 12 and 19. For more information contact the Rev Williamson on 01275 840596.The Rev Des Williamson is pictured enjoying a pint at The Poacher while waiting for his first customer.
