A PORTISHEAD vicar is hoping people will join him in discussing how to wet a baby's head - by holding christening information sessions in a town pub.The Rev Des Williamson is organising a drop-in at The Poacher in Portishead for people who want to discuss the issue of baptising their babies. The sessions will be held on three Tuesdays from 9-10pm.The Rev Williamson, whose favourite tipple is a pint of cider, said: "I am keen to encourage parents to consider christening their children as in the rush of life with a young family, the possibility of christening is often overlooked. Also a lot of people who have never crossed the threshold of a church do go to the pub."This is a chance for people to have an informal chat and I will be happy to explain what is involved in christening over a pint."I will give the advice, but I can't guarantee it will be me getting the beers in."The sessions will be held on October 5, 12 and 19.
