A WESTON youngster and his faithful hound Charlie will walk from the town's hospice to Charlton Farm in Wraxall to raise money for charity.

Priory Community School pupil Ben Woodhouse, aged 12, will walk 26.5 miles with his dog from Weston Hospicecare to the North Somerset base, all in aid of the Children’s Hospice South West.

Last year, Ben, who suffers with
dyslexia, dyspraxia and asthma, walked 18 miles from Yatton to Axbridge to raise money for Cardiac Risk In The Young.

He raised more than £460 and is hoping to beat that amount on June 1 this year, accompanied by mum Tracy.

She said: “Ben has various health issues which include memory loss, absences, gynaecomastia and suspected arthritis but always tries his best to help others.

“He first met everyone at Charlton Farm when he gave them his Playstation and a load of games and toys before Christmas and was blown away by them.

“Ben gave them his bike he had grown out of last month for the children and their siblings who stay at Charlton Farm.”
