WINSCOMBE and Sandford are set to benefit from faster broadband speeds.

Communication firm TalkTalk says its £50,000 investment in the villages will provide a faster and better value internet service for residents.

The work is part of the company’s national programme to roll out its next generation network across the country.

The new network will enable speeds of up to 14mb when work to upgrade speeds in the two villages is completed later this year.

The firm has also made a donation to Winscombe Football Club towards maintaining facilities and helping to pay for machinery for the upkeep of the pitch.
