CALLS have been made to improve signage and safety on a rural road following a series of accidents.

Anne Gendle believes North Somerset Council must act to stop more crashes occurring in Yatton’s Moor Road. She took a picture of a car that had crashed on January 14 and regularly sees accidents happen there.

Mrs Gendle, of Kenn Moor Road, said: “How may more of these dreadful accidents are going to happen before the most rudimentary action is taken, such as signage indicating a narrow bridge and reduce your speed?

“How about a weight reduction on this stretch of road, as 40-tonne juggernauts now regularly use this road from the M5 to get to the A370?

“Unfortunately, the planned new housing developments in Yatton will only make matters worse if nothing is done.”
