Weston-super-Mare bike business helps charitable duo

Two Weston-super-Mare men have thanked a bike shop for helping them after they had a crash.
Arthur Bruce and Paul Bowler were on their way to take part in the Great Weston Ride when they had an accident.
The bike rack on the car fell off and left one bike unrideable and the other badly damaged.
The duo, who had already raised hundreds of pounds for Prostate Cancer UK, persevered and completed the 57-mile challenge from Bristol to Weston, with Paul having to borrow one of Arthur’s old bikes to compete.
After the race, they reached out to Weston’s Bicycle Chain, in Aisecome Way, and asked if they could repair the bikes.
The business’ manager, Adam Jones, told them he would wave the labour costs for the repairs – which can be £60-80 – as they were doing something for charity.
He added: “They were doing something for a good cause and we wanted to help to reduce the cost.”
