A REWARD has been offered for the arrest of three graffiti vandals who police hope will be identified by their 'tags'.Police community beat officer for Yatton, Andy Bibbings, has been trying to bring the vandals to justice after they targeted homes and businesses in areas of the village including Pages Court, Chescombe Road, Hangstones Park and the High Street. An anonymous individual has come forward to offer a £200 reward for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of the vandals and PC Bibbings believes the signature marks they have left behind, known as 'tags', will be instrumental in their arrest. He said: "We have put the word out to try to find the three people responsible, but as yet nobody has come forward to offer any information."The offenders go under the tags of Toast, Acer and BTS or BTM, which stands for beat the system or machine. Someone knows the people who are behind these tag names and we urge them to come forward. We need to show them that using people's homes or businesses as a canvas is not acceptable."When the offenders are caught they will be instrumental in the removal of the graffiti as they need to realise that what takes a few seconds to apply can take hours to remove."We need to send out a clear message that this is criminal damage and will not be tolerated. If they want a graffiti wall in the village I am sure it could be provided."Anyone with information can call PC Bibbings on 01275 343445.
