A BIFF cartoon workshop was one of many held in Butcombe this weekend.

People opened their homes as part of the annual village festival to allow others to try their hand at something new.

One of the creators of the British Biff cartoon, Mick Kidd, gave a workshop on the popular illustrations, which were used in The Guardian newspaper for more than 20 years.

A ‘music galore’ event was held on the Friday and offered eager revellers the chance to try their hand at a variety of instruments.

Other sessions throughout the village included creative writing, an introduction to bridge, making icing sugar flowers and creative writing.

The festival will continue into next month with an open garden event from June 11-12.
