MEN from Shipham, Axbridge and Winscombe have been spilling the beans over delicious fry-ups at a breakfast club. They have been meeting up in each other's homes once a month to enjoy a cooked breakfast while talking about different issues. The chaps are all linked to churches in the area and decided to hold regular meetings to talk about their faith as well as any issues bothering them.David Williams, aged 60, from the Shipham group, said: "It gives Christian men the chance to get together and talk about things because we realise men are not very good at doing that sort of thing. We have speakers who talk for a few minutes on a topic and we discuss it over breakfast. It's been very successful."The men take it in turns to host the meetings in their homes on Saturdays from 8.30-10.30am.The Shipham group started up five years ago and since then new clubs have formed in Axbridge and Winscombe. On March 24 all three groups will be getting together for a big breakfast at Barton Camp in Barton Road, Barton.Reverend Andrew Alden, from St Paul's Church in Weston, will be speaking at the event, which will run from 8.30-10.30am. The suggested donation for the event is £5, to cover the cost of the breakfast, offer a gift to the speaker and donate funds to the camp.Anyone interested in finding out more about the group is welcome to go along. The groups are open to men of any age. To book a place at the big breakfast or to find out more about starting up your own group call David on 01934 843772.
