Archant

Students from Brent Knoll Primary School provided some fantastic entertainment as the village’s annual wassail celebration took place at the weekend.

It may have been a chilly evening but the event was a huge success as the crowd enjoyed a torch-lit procession into the orchard with the traditional act of placing toast onto a tree taking place.

This was done by the wassailing queen, which has become a big part of the South West tradition. The event took place at Westcroft Cider Farm, in Burton Row, and included a host of live music and entertainment.

The schoolchildren performed a number of songs and thrilled the delighted crowd, who enjoyed a host of different ciders throughout the evening.
