THE brave swimmers who took part in the sixth annual Big Swim in aid of Weston RNLI were honoured for their determination at a presentation evening.

Eight supporters managed to swim from Brean Down to Anchor Head at the event held in September and raised nearly £5,000 for the charity.

Organiser Steve Collard is pictured handing over a cheque to deputy mayor Jos Holder, who accepted it on behalf of the RNLI.

He was then presented with the winner’s plaque for securing first place in the swim with a time of 59 minutes and 24 seconds.
